PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

Program Summary
AEM-Parami English Language Initiative aims to provide English language courses for specific users, such as learners planning to study abroad, professionals working in vocational fields, and those working in international organizations. The program will also deliver these courses online to the targeted student populations, augmented with program activities accessible to the broader public.

Program Instructor Job Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable Program Instructor to join our AEM-Parami University (English Language Initiative) team. The instructor needs to be friendly and energetic, as well as have excellent communication skills. They should enjoy working with students, have strong teaching skills, and foster an engaging educational environment. This role is primarily responsible for delivering courses, designing public-facing programs, and working with facilitators to run informal conversation classes.
This position is full-time employee at 40 hours per week, which includes instruction hours. It will also include time for supporting public programming activities and adapting additional learning content for self-study platforms. It is expected that the instructor will teach 3 terms for a maximum of 25 students in each class session at a given time. There will be possibility of teaching after office hour classes, depending on the needs of the program.
The program Instructor will represent AEM-Parami University and will be responsible for meeting university standards of teaching and professionalism.

Program Instructor Duties and Responsibilities are as follow, but are not limited to:
1. Creating a safe learning environment that empowers students to question and grow.
2. Facilitating courses that support students’ English language development, including speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
3. Collaborating with the AEM-Parami instruction team to design engaging curriculum for academic, vocational, and professional English purposes.
4. Performing basic administrative tasks involved in facilitating courses, including grade and attendance record keeping and evaluating student progress
5. Planning, supporting and leading public programming activities, including English conversation and workshops.
6. Assist in relevant, miscellaneous duties, projects and activities when required.

Program Instructor Requirements and Qualifications
   ● College/University Degree in English Language, English Literature or similar field is preferred
   ● Familiarity working in a multicultural environment
   ● Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal
   ● Professionalism in working with students and colleagues
   ● Strong attention to detail
   ● Able to complete tasks alone with precision, and to prioritize workloads to meet
deadlines.
   ● Strong computer skills with experience using Google workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant apps. Experience using Canvas, Moodle and/or other LMS is desirable, but not required.
Desirable Qualifications
   ● Cambridge CELTA, ESL or TESOL certification
Experience
● Minimum 3 years of experience working/ teaching in language education or similar fields
● Experience in teaching relevant age groups:
     o Teaching Adults (400+hours)
Reports to
Program Instructor will report to the Program Director and Program Academic Lead.
